![]() ![]() The Debut Pro doesn’t flinch, delivering the music’s drama superbly. The Debut Pro produces a stable and controlled sound too, one that retains its composure even when the music becomes dense and demanding. This Pro-Ject is terrific at digging deep into the production and revealing layers of instrumental textures that most at this level ignore. It’s a musically convincing presentation, one where each instrument dovetails beautifully to add to the experience.Once up and running it delivers an impressively crisp and detailed sound for the money. We particularly like the care taken over the f inish of the tonearm bearing housing with its smart Nickel-plated metal parts. So realistically I think with the jdslabs setup I'd say fuck it return the debut.“Ignore this one at your peril. I really don't think u really start seeing difference or turntable quality in the music without higher end amplification. I tested it also into my jdslabs amp and with my hd660s headphones and again wasn't that noticeable. but for fun I went back and listened to both setups through jdslabs setup and the difference between the 2 was hardly noticeable. from there upgraded turntable to the rega planar 6 eith ania and there was a pretty big difference in all aspects. my next setup I used the same turntable into cambridge audio cx81 into kef q750 speakers and sounded great. I went from a fluance rt81 with built in phono into a jds labs element amp2 and then into a aux cable into some bose speakers and it sounded OK. u can spend thousands of dollars and here only the most subtle differences whrn u concentrate in it. and these differences are not as huge as everyone says they are. You won't get much of a differwnce until u start listening to it out of higher end gear. If so, spend only what you need to get to that point. The line contact really gets a ton of detail and IGD is negligible.īut, whether or not you notice these differences depends on whether a) your setup gives you high enough fidelity to discern them, b) your hearing is good enough to detect them, and c) you know what you're listening for and actually care.īut in the end, it comes down to if it meets your needs and you're happy using it. The nude elliptical had better high-end resolution and less inner groove distortion. Going from a bonded elliptical to a nude elliptical to a line-contact cartridge/stylus changed the sound every time. The speakers suited the room better, and the difference was noticeable. ![]() Going from ELAC Debuts to KEF Q350s changed the entire way bass sounded on my system, and the highs were much more detailed. That being said, equipment does make a difference. The important thing is that you're happy with the way your music sounds. I'm extremely disappointed and considering returning my fancy gear and sticking to my AT-LP60X. I have the ability to record the output of both turntables straight into my computer and do spectrum analysis, but that's quite a bit of effort to do for something that's not even noticeable. The artifacts and scratchy sounds are still there on brand new vinyl cleaned to the best of my abilities. ![]() My current setup is a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo, into a Pro-Ject Phono Box, into a JDS Labs Atom Amp, into my Sennheiser HD-600s.īetween these two setups, there is absolutely ZERO noticeable quality difference. My AT-LP60X setup was running through an aux cable into my gaming pc and I would listen to music that way. ![]() I have two working turntables at the moment, a Audio Technica AT-LP60X, and a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo. They all said that the AT-LP60X is trash, and that the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo was god-like, the best turntable under $500, and lands blows against turntables worth twice as much as it. Hello, I'm a bit confused after watching a lot of videos and reading a lot of posts by audiophiles. ![]()
